Intro To Pizzana Downtown!
Houston foodies, we finally made our way to one of the city’s buzziest pizza spots: Pizzana. After weeks of seeing the hype on TikTok and hearing fellow pizza lovers rave about their cacio e pepe pie, we knew it was time. We placed a pickup order (which was ready on time with zero wait), snagged parking easily, and dug in as soon as we got home. Our take? We’ll get to that, but first, here’s everything you need to know before your first visit.

The Menu & Prices
You’ll find that pizzas range from roughly $21 to $26, while appetizers and salads are priced between $14 and $18, and desserts cost between $8 and $14.
Must-tries include:
Cacio e Pepe Pizza (provoloncino, parmigiano crema, cracked pepper): rich, creamy, peppery, named a Chronicle critics’ pick.
Corbarina Pizza (seasonal squash blossom, burrata, gremolata): a standout visually and flavor-wise, with critics raving about its complexity.
Diavola Pizza (spicy salami, honey, walnut romesco) balances heat and sweetness beautifully.
Vegetarian & vegan?
Yes! You’ll find vegetarian-friendly salads and pizzas. Plus, specific vegan options like Vegan Funghi and Vegan Margherita, complete with vegan mozzarella.
A whole pizza + appetizer + dessert + drinks experience typically lands in the upper $$ neighborhood. Delicious, but definitely a little splurge.
The Story
Pizza is the brainchild of Master Pizzaiolo Daniele Uditi, whose humble beginnings in Caserta, Italy, led him through a Michelin-star kitchen before landing in LA. His 48-hour “slow dough” fermentation method gives the crust its signature lightness and crisp texture.
Joining him are LA food luminaries Charles and Candace Nelson (of Sprinkles Cupcakes fame) and actor Chris O’Donnell, creating a brand with star power and serious culinary chops.
The concept launched in LA and expanded to Dallas in 2022, opening its first Houston location in March 2024, where River Oaks meets the city’s shopping core.
The Vibe
Inside, Pizzana feels like a cross between a sleek LA lounge and a cozy pizza bar. Expect vibrant blue accents, an open kitchen, and plenty of people snapping photos of their food. It’s not overly fancy, but it does lean towards an upscale-casual style.
It can get loud during peak hours something a few reviewers noted, but that buzzy energy is part of the charm. Whether you’re out on a casual date night or grabbing a quick bite with friends, it works.
The Service
Since we ordered the pickup, our interaction was brief but smooth—friendly staff, no delays, and everything packaged well. If you’re dining in, reviews suggest that the service is generally warm and attentive, although a few mentioned slower pacing when the restaurant is full.
